Typical ice gel pack use requires only 1 piece per insulated container when transporting food items. The size of the ice gel pack required is dependent on the travel duration and size of the container. For smaller containers (take away sized) we recommend 1 piece of the 100g OEM Ice Gel Pack or 40g Streampeak Ice Gel Pack. For medium size we’d recommend 1-2 pieces of the larger size depending on the space available.

Yes our ice gel packs are food safe. Do note that they are not necessarily safe for medical/pharmaceutical use though as we have not tested for it.

We recommend freezing smaller ice gel packs (100g or less) for at least 12 hours. For larger ice gel packs we recommend a freezing time of 24 hours. Do note that freezing times may vary depending on the freezer, temperature and quantity of ice gel packs being frozen at once.

Ice gel packs are ready to use when the liquid contained is frozen solid.

Our ice gel packs last anywhere from 2 hours to 24 hours. We’re not able to answer this question accurately as a variety of factors affects how long an ice gel pack will be able to keep items cool.

Factors as exposure to sunlight, ambient humidity, container insulation and container size all affect how long an ice gel pack is able to last.

Generally, we’ve found 100g ice gel packs to be able to last 1-2 hours in an uninsulated takeout box and 250g ice gel packs to last 12-20 hours in a medium styrofoam box. Do give us a call or contact us with your specific requirements to get a more accurate idea.

Ice Gel Packs typically keep items at a temperature range of between 5-20 C. The range is dependent on the ratio of ice gel pack to volume of the container. The more empty space is filled with ice gel packs, the colder it is.

Ideally you would combine Ice Gel Packs with an insulated container, whether a bag or foam box, to keep your items cooler for longer periods.
